'BOOP', a roguelike beat em up shoot em up? - Dev Blog 03


hi yall ๐Ÿ€

tenth week! its been 10 weeks since i started the development for my beat em up roguelike game called 'BOOP' which is now also a shoot em up!

= New Features Added last 3 weeks =

  • Charging Range Attack!
  • Shockwave Ability!
  • Ground Slam Ability! (Refinements)
  • 2 New Enemy Types
    • faster melee'r (green)
    • range'r (purple)

Charging Range Attack


- a mini shockwave range attack to shoot em up, activated by holding and letting go the attack button

Shockwave Ability

- a bigger and wider shockwave that knocks any enemy it passes through to infinity and beyond!

Ground Slam Ability (More Powerful!)

- a powerful ulti-like nuke-like  ability that absolutely annihilates all enemies

New Melee Enemy (Faster!)

- a variation of the normal brown bear but just.... faster, moves faster, attack faster

New Range Enemy (Scarier!)

- a purple bear that locks onto player for few seconds before shooting a shockwave projectile 

= more updates? =

first & foremost, the game isnt at all in its final state, other ideas such as a big boss enemy, more upgrades variations, adding VFX, more polishing, etc etc can definitely still be done.

however, currently ill be focusing more on other game projects, learning other designing and programming skills & actualising ideas / concept that have been in the back of my mind these recent weeks. so, ill have to hold on developing BOOP for a long while.

BUT.. that does not mean that i have abandoned BOOP, so do stay tuned for updates, whenever   they     may      come.
